RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), which is coordinating with relevant authorities to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced Syrian people, has opened special bank accounts for fundraising from citizens and expatriates.

Saudi Arabia launched Tuesday a nationwide fundraising drive to help the displaced Syrians.
An official from the center told Arab News: “In order to implement the directive of the king, KSrelief in coordination with other relevant authorities launched a popular campaign in support of Syrian refugees by opening special accounts in three banks — the National Commercial Bank (NCB), Al Rajhi Bank and Banque Saudi Fransi.
Donors can either directly visit the bank or donate online through these special accounts — SA9510000022185556000107 at the NCB, SA5655000000099088000757 at Banque Saudi Fransi and SA362608015888888 at Al Rajhi Bank — with KSrelief as the beneficiary.
He said that one can take the address of the bank where to deposit the amount as per one’s convenience or make digital donations through SMS and online banking.
The donation is being processed via text messages by all telecom companies through the unified number (5565) by sending No (1) to donate SR10, No (2) for SR 20 or No (3) for SR 30 and likewise, the official added.
There is no need to have an account in the same bank. The donors holding accounts in other banks too can deposit their donations in these special accounts and the money will go to the KSrelief to help distressed Syrians.
The center has set up the toll free number 920008554 for inquiries.
The instruction from King Salman to organize the popular fundraising campaign across the Kingdom continued to get an overwhelming response on Wednesday receiving donations via Saudi TV channel 1, where the total cash donations to the popular campaign has reached SR182 MILLION.
Meanwhile, the Saudi National Campaign (SNC), which works for distressed Syrians, has started dispatching relief convoys to help those displaced from Aleppo facing extreme winter conditions. The convoy consisted of 10 trucks containing 47,000 jackets, 30,000 sweaters, 15,000 shawls for women and 9,000 blankets.
Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Samhan, the regional director of the SNC, said that work is underway for the distribution of aid inside Syria during the winter by sending 400,000 jackets, 176,000 blankets, 188,000 blankets for babies, 288,000 winter suits, 144,000 pullovers and 172,000 shawls for women.
Moreover, support for the fundraising drive continued with the General Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross expressing its sincere thanks and appreciation to King Salman for his instruction to organize the popular campaign, his directive to allocate SR100 million for this campaign and KSrelief to coordinate with the concerned authorities to provide relief materials, foodstuffs, medicine, shelter, and receiving and treating the injured, establishing and equipping refugee camps and providing comprehensive winter aid urgently.
