<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394; font-size: large;">HOROSCOPE is Haram</span></b><br />
Not only is the practice of astrology Haram  but also visiting an astrologist and listening to his predictions, buying books on astrology or reading one’s horoscope are also forbidden! Since astrology is mainly used for predicting the future, those who practice it are considered fortune-tellers. Consequently, one who seeks his horoscope comes under the ruling contained in the Prophet’s statement: "The Salaah (daily prayer) of whoever approaches a fortune-teller and asks him about anything will not be accepted for forty days and nights." [Reported by Hafsah and collected by Muslim (Sahih Muslim (English Trans.), vol. 4, p. 1211, no. 5440).]<br />
This is a form of Shirk because Allah has clearly stated:<br />
"With Him are the keys to the unseen and none knows it except Him" [Soorah al-An`aa,m 6:59]<br />
"Say: None in the heavens or earth knows the unseen except Allah." [Soorah an-Naml 27:65]<br />
If, however, one believes in the predictions of their horoscope, whether spoken by an astrologist or written in books of astrology, he falls directly into Kufr  (disbelief) as stated by the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) "Whoever approaches an oracle or fortune-teller and believes in what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." [Reported by Abu Hurayrah and collected by Ahmad and Abu Daawood (Sunan Abu Dawud (English Trans.), vol. 3, p. 1095, no. 3895).] <br />
Like the previous Hadeeth, this Hadeeth literally refers to the fortune-teller but it is just as applicable to the astrologist. Both claim knowledge of the future. The astrologist’s claim is just as opposed to Tawheed as the ordinary fortune-teller. He claims that people’s personalities are determined by the stars, and their future actions and the events of their lives are written in the stars. The ordinary fortune-teller claims that the formation of tea leaves at the bottom of a cup, or lines in a palm tell him the same thing. In both cases individuals claim the ability to read in the physical formation of created objects knowledge of the unseen.<br />
Belief in astrology and the casting of horoscopes are in clear opposition to the letter and spirit of Islaam. It is really the empty soul, which has not tasted real Eemaan (belief) that seeks out these paths. Essentially these paths, represent a vain attempt to escape Qadar (fate). The ignorant believe that if they know what is in store for them tomorrow, they can prepare from today. In that way they may avoid the bad and ensure the good. Yet, Allaah’s messenger was told by Allaah to say: "If I knew the unseen, I would surely have only sought the good. But, I am only a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for believers." [Al-Qur'an Soorah al-A`raaf 7:188]<br />
True Muslims are therefore obliged to stay far away from these areas. Thus, rings, chains, etc., which have the signs of the Zodiac on them should not be worn, even if one does not believe in them. They are part and parcel of a fabricated system which propagates Kufr and should be done away with entirely. No believing Muslim should ask another what his sign is, or attempt to guess his sign. Nor should he or she read horoscope columns in newspapers or listen to them read. And, any Muslim who allows astrological predictions to determine his actions, should seek Allaah’s forgiveness and renew his Islaam.<br />
So as a Muslim we should avoid  written things like cups glasses books magazine etc[ if anyone have any Astrological written thing, he should break it that any other can`t get it]<br />
Because it is kufur.</div>

Polytheistic Astrology

Astrology is the study of the relationship between the movements of 
the stars and their influence on people and events. From an Islamic 
perspective, Astrology is divided into two branches - polytheistic and 
lawful.<br />

<h3>
Polytheistic Astrology</h3>
Can you imagine claming that the stars and planets have such 
domineering power that they can steer people's lives and destinies? That
 they are the determining factor of good or bad luck? This form of 
polytheism, experienced by those to whom Abraham, <em>peace be upon him</em>,
 was sent, insinuates ascribing partners to Allah in worship. It also 
presumes a relationship between stars, planets and events that take 
place on Earth by which, the future can be predicted. It claims 
knowledge of the unseen based on speculations and conjectures when such 
knowledge is unique to Allah Alone.<br />

As Muslims, we know that the stars and planets cannot be used as 
indicators of happiness or misery, life or death. Allah says in the 
Qur'an:<br />

<span class="quran">"(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the <em>ghayb</em> (unseen), and He reveals to none His <em>ghayb</em>
 (unseen), except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen. (He 
informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of 
watching guards (agnels) to march before him and after him."</span> [<em>Al-Qur'an</em> 72:26-27]</div>

Ruling</h3>
Muslims are not allowed to learn or teach polytheistic astrology because the Prophet, <em>sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam</em>, regarded it as a branch of magic, which is prohibited by Islamic law. Allah says in the <em>Qur'an</em>:<br />

<span class="quran">"They followed what the
 devils gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Solomon. 
Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved, teaching men 
magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Harut
 and Marut, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such 
things) till they had said, 'We are only for trial, so disbelieve not 
(by learning this magic from us).' "</span> [<em>Al-Qur'an</em> 2:102]</div>
It also involves learning something that has no benefit. If a Muslim 
were to learn it for a career, all associated gains would be unlawful. 
And, anyone who teaches it to others, spreads falsehood.<br />

<h3>
Astrology in Popular Culture</h3>
Polytheistic astrology has dramatically spread in recent years, and 
it has become a means of distorting people's belief in Allah. Private 
institutes have been founded, books, magazines and newspapers are 
published, under various titles such as <em>What's in the Stars for You?</em>, <em>Constellations</em> and many others in order to advertise such a seductive commodity that often appeals to the uneducated public.<br />

A true Muslim should stay away from this type of astrology because if
 he does not, it is likely to exclude him completely from the fold of 
Islam.<br />

<h3>
Lawful Astrology</h3>
This is the scientific study of stars for determining and fixing time
 division such as months and seasons and determining and fixing compass 
directions. In modern times, this can be called astronomy, and this is 
lawful because it is perceived by the senses and fixed calculations, 
which can help determine the times of prescribed prayers, and other 
religious duties that should be observed at certain times.<br />

<h3>
Divine Wisdom Behind the Creation of the Stars</h3>
Allah has informed us of His intended purpose for the stars:<br />

<span class="quran">"And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps."</span> [Al-Qur'an 67:5]</div>
<div style="margin-left: 2em;">
<span class="quran">"And landmarks (sign posts during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves."</span> [<em>Al-Qur'an</em> 16:16]</div>
<div style="margin-left: 2em;">
<span class="quran">" ... and We have made such lamps as missiles to drive away the <em>shayatin</em> (devils)."</span> [<em>Al-Qur'an</em> 67:5]</div>
Because this subject is often overlooked, many Muslims may not be 
aware of the ruling of astrology. It would be easy to find it amusing to
 check on one's horoscope or discuss which 'sign' you were born under. 
But, as with many elements of today's popular culture, we must force 
ourselves to refocus our lives, and live every day to please Allah, <em>subhanahu wa ta'ala</em>,
 in case it may be our last. Spending idle time on such foolishness is 
not only wasteful, but it is a sign that we are venturing away from the 
straight path.<br />

<span style="font-size: small;">Is it permissible to go to astrologers and to believe what they say, or not? Al-Nasaa’i narrated that the Prophet  (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The prayer of the one who goes to them and believes them will not be accepted.” Is this correct? Please explain to us what was narrated from the Prophet  (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and what the scholars have said.</span></div>
Praise be to Allaah.<br />
There are many ahaadeeth which state that this is haraam, such as the hadeeth narrated from Safiyah bint Abi ‘Ubayd from one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who narrated that he said: “Whoever goes to a soothsayer and asks him about something and believes him, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days.” (Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh).<br />
Qusaybah ibn al-Mukhaariq said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Al-‘ayaafah, al-tiyarah and al-turuq [kinds of augury] are all part of al-jabt [witchcraft or idolatry].’” This was narrated by Abu Dawood with a saheeh isnaad. Abu Dawood said: Al-‘ayaafah, al-khatt and al-turuq are all kinds of augury, whereby a bird is released and is watched to see whether it flies to the right or to the left. If it flies to the right it is taken as a good omen and if it flies to the left it is taken as a bad omen. Al-Jawhari said: al-jabt is a word which may be applied to idols, soothsayers, magicians, astrologers etc.<br />
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever seeks knowledge from the stars is seeking one of the branches of witchcraft…” Narrated by Abu Dawood with a saheeh isnaad.<br />
It was narrated that Mu’aawiyah ibn al-Hakam said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, I am still close to the time of Jaahiliyyah [i.e., I am new in Islam]. Allaah has brought Islam to us, but there are among us men who go to soothsayers (fortune tellers).’ He said, ‘Do not go to them.’ I said, ‘And there are men among us who practise augury [watch birds for omens].’ He said, ‘That is something which they make up. Do not believe them.’” (Narrated by Muslim).<br />
It was narrated from Abu Mas’ood al-Badri that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade the price of a dog, the fee of a prostitute and the payment of a soothsayer. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim).<br />
It was reported that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “Some people asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about soothsayers. He said, ‘They are nothing.’ They said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, sometimes they say something and it comes true.’ The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘That is a word of truth that the jinn snatches and whispers into the ear of his familiar, but they mix a hundred lies with it.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim).<br />
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever comes to a soothsayer and believes what he says, or has intercourse with a woman in her back passage, has nothing to do with that which has been revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).” (Narrated by Abu Dawood).<br />
… The scholars have stated that it is haraam to deal with such matters or to go to find out about them or to believe in them. It is haraam to pay them money, and anyone who is suffering from any of these things must hasten to repent from it. And Allaah knows best.<br />

And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. Allaah has condemned them for that, and they are our enemies. And He has stated that teaching witchcraft is kufr and that it is harmful and not beneficial, so we must beware of it. </b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; font-size: 15px; text-align: justify; unicode-bidi: embed;"><b>Learning witchcraft is all kufr, hence He stated that the two angels did not teach it to people until they had told them, “We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).”  Then He says, “but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allaah’s Leave” so it is known that it is kufr and misguidance, and that the practitioners of witchcraft cannot harm anyone except by Allaah’s Leave. What is meant is His universal qadari will (i.e., things that He decrees should happen even though He may dislike them), not His religious shar’i will (i.e., that which He prescribes and which pleases Him) – because Allaah has not prescribed this and has not given permission for it in His sharee’ah; rather He has forbidden it and stated that it is kufr and is from the teachings of the devils. And He has stated that whoever buys it – i.e., learns it – will have no share in the Hereafter. This is a serious warning. Then Allaah says: “And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew” – what is meant is that they have sold themselves to the devils for this witchcraft. Then Allaah says, “And if they had believed and guarded themselves from evil and kept their duty to Allaah, far better would have been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew!” – this indicates that learning witchcraft and using it is the opposite of faith and piety.
